Ingredients
Scale
For the Filling:
- 2 cups mascarpone cheese
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- 1 cup dulce de leche
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
For the Ladyfingers:
- 2 cups strong brewed coffee (cooled)
- 1 tablespoon instant coffee (optional for extra coffee flavor)
- 2 tablespoons sugar (optional for sweetness)
- 24–30 ladyfingers (savoiardi biscuits)
For Topping:
- Unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting
- Shaved chocolate or chocolate curls (optional for garnish)
Instructions
Prepare the Coffee Mixture:
- Brew the Coffee – Brew 2 cups of strong coffee and let it cool. If desired, dissolve 1 tablespoon of instant coffee and 2 tablespoons of sugar for extra flavor. Set aside.
Make the Filling:
- Whisk Mascarpone and Heavy Cream – In a large bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar. Beat with an electric mixer until the mixture is smooth and stiff peaks form.
- Add Dulce de Leche – Gently fold in the dulce de leche until the filling is well combined and smooth.
Assemble the Tiramisu:
- Soak the Ladyfingers – Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture. Be careful not to soak them too long to prevent sogginess.
- Layer the Tiramisu – In a 9×9-inch (or similar-sized) dish, layer the soaked ladyfingers on the bottom. Spread half of the dulce de leche filling over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and top with the remaining filling.
- Chill the Tiramisu – Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.
Serve the Tiramisu:
- Garnish & Serve – Just before serving, dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder and garnish with shaved chocolate or chocolate curls for an elegant touch.
